Jobs in accounting

When completing this curriculum, you'll be prepared for a wide array of accounting careers in the public, private, non-profit and government sectors. Accounting jobs are available in almost every city and town. They're typically stable jobs with regular office hours, offering high salaries and good benefits. Many accounting careers also offer the ability for the employee to travel.  

Employers are seeking entry-level applicants with an accounting education and strong analytical and communication skills, who are highly organized and have good attention to detail. There's a wide variety of fields you can pursue with an accounting major.

The accounting certificate and AAS offer both online and face-to-face class options; however, the program cannot be completed entirely online.
  

Class formats

Sandburg offers courses in a variety of formats to best fit your needs. Regardless of the format, make sure you have access to a reliable computer with high-speed internet. All courses use online resources and require you to access course information through  mySandburg. The Galesburg and Carthage campuses have open computer labs for your use as a student.
