Getting started

To start exercising at Sandburg, simply complete your personal profile at the fitness center front desk, and go through orientation. If you'd like to receive college credit for exercising, sign up for Physical Fitness. If you're not a student and want to use the facilities, sign up for Continuing Fitness I, the non-credited course. You can register online, over the phone, in Student Development or at the fitness center.

All first-time members must attend an orientation to understand the policies and procedures of the facility, and to discuss personal goals and health history. The personalized orientation session also educates you on the proper use of the equipment and establishes an exercise program based on your individual needs. Once orientation is completed, you're entitled to use all of the cardiovascular equipment, strength machines, free weights and locker room facilities with showers. The fitness center also offers other services such as blood pressure, body fat analysis, flexibility, and muscular strength and endurance testing.
